Trey Pendley

With a country style as rugged yet relaxed as a broken-in Carhartt, Leo33’s Trey Pendley is a singer-songwriter and bright-side-looking back-porch philosopher. Also a devoted husband and father of three, the Nashville-based rising star tells sharp-witted stories thick with.

Homegrown honesty and hardscrabble humor, landing midway between rootsy tradition and radio trends. Native to the idyllic old-school community of Toad Suck, Arkansas, Pendley was raised on eclectic records by George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, David Allen Coe, and Merle Haggard, as well as the Beastie Boys, Easy-E, Mötley Crüe, and Ozzy Osborne. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, he parlayed his deep thinking reflections on rural youth into a debut gig at a local bingo hall, and then a reluctant trip to a songwriting camp, where he fell in love with a fellow singer-songwriter named Lexi. After going viral with the tender “Daddy’s Son” in 2021 (written in tribute to Pendley’s hard-headed, hard-working DNA), the homespun video has now been viewed over 10 million times on YouTube, and a new creative chapter begins. Rooted in the chaotic charm of blue-collar life, tracks like “Drunk as Any Rich Man” celebrate the beauty of barely getting by, while an upcoming EP debut mixes tender country folk, swampy hillbilly rock, warm-hearted bluegrass, and more. Looking ahead, the rising star plans to continue his search for the simple, stubborn truth, pulling fans from their paycheck-to-paycheck haze.
